The first Sony Ericsson Open tickets will take place on the Island of Key Biscayne in Miami Florida, March 21 – April 1, 2007. This tournament attracts more than 270,000 spectators as the leading international professional tennis tournament outside the four Grand Slams. Reigning champions Roger Federer and Svetlana Kuznetsova return to the tournament as 96 men and 96 women compete for the $6.9 million equal prize fund.
In 2006, In this Open Federer defeated Ivan Ljubicic in three close sets and joined Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi as the only male back-to-back winners in the tournament's 22-year history.
