Tampa Bay Bucanneers History

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team, as did the Seattle Seahawks. The Bucs lost their first 26 games in franchise history and had 14 straight losing seasons. However, in the last decade, the Bucs emerged as a perennial championship contender and defeated the Oakland Raiders in 2003 to win Super Bowl XXXVII. The team played its home games at Houlihan's Stadium a.k.a. Tampa Stadium until 1995. Since 1998 the Bucs have hosted opponents at Raymond James Stadium.
