Seattle Seahawks History

The team, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, joined the NFL in 1976 as expansion teams.  They are currently members of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Seattle is currently the only team in the NFL that has played in both the American Football Conference (AFC) and NFC Championship games.  The Seahawks have one Super Bowl appearance, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL.
