The club was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1901. The team was known back then as the Milwaukee Brewers (not to be confused with the current Milwaukee Brewers) moved to St. Louis in 1902 and became the St. Louis Browns. It was not until 1954 that the Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Orioles.
The Baltimore Orioles
have won eight division titles, seven American League pennants and three World Series, the last one coming in 1983 when they defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 and were led by American League MVP Cal Ripken Jr, now in the Hall of Fame.
