The Big Ten Tournament
The Big Ten tournament is the conference championship tournament in men’s basketball for the Big Ten Conference. This exciting single-elimination tournament has been played each year since 1998, with the winner of the tournament being designated the Big Ten Tournament Champion and receiving the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
The 2008 Big East Men’s Basketball tournament will be played between March 13 and March 16, 2008 at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The finals of the tournament are usually held immediately before the field of 64 for the NCAA tournament is announced.
The first tournaments were held at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Beginning in 2002, the tournament has alternated between the United Center and the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Beginning this year the tournament will make Indianapolis its home for five years.
In 2007 Ohio State won the tournament by beating Wisconsin. The Buckeyes went on to lose in the championship game to the Florida Gators.
